saabji, aadab. hope you are well.
are you still burying yourself in goodworks in bucolic surroundings, or have the temptations of the metrop proved so great that you've succumbed to its dubious charms. (there should be savaliya nishan there, but whatte the hecke!)
of course i'm sure the answer is over there somewhere in the hazy distance and if i moseyed on down there in my ten-gallon chitrali topi chewing a tambaaku-vala paan i'd get the answer -- unless you, like me, have been ignoring your blogging responsibilities.

i myself
have been here and there in the depths of despair, fighting off demons who've captured my soul, now they want a kink's ransom for something that's worth slightly less than the ink that this sorry-ass blog is not printed in.

(or something like that)

you've raised a most pertinent point young lady. i in dubai. you not. i think the short answer to that is you cannot get the books.

a more considered answer, however, might run along the lines of... i could hand them over to someone in dubai who might conceivably pass them on to you.

btw, are you interested in any of them, or was that simply an exercise in rhetoric? :) tho' i guess i should have pointed out in the post that i live in sinny dubai to avoid getting the hopes up of those dear readers who do not live in and around here.

i am not of course giving away my more precious books; my graham greenes and arundhati roys and saadat hasan mantos and james ellroys and extensive histories of republican rome and nationalsozialistische deutschland, and so many other books i think i'd love to read but haven't got round to yet.

(my point is, more books may well be added to the list in the coming days.)
